PURPOSE
- To encourage members of MCAS to breed and share aquatic species
- To share information and techniques on spawning and rearing different species
- To encourage and promote MCAS member participation
WHAT IS NEEDED TO SUBMIT FISH?
- Bring at least five (5) sixty (60) day-old fry to our regular monthly club meeting. Label the bag/container with your name, fish scientific name, and common name (if applicable).
- Fill out a BAP Submission Form here: https://forms.gle/AHgeyB3ADKzZTc286.
- Present the fish as well as BAP Submission Form to the BAP Coordinator at the beginning of the meeting.
- Fish will be logged and marked for auction.
GUIDELINES/RULES
- Participants must be a MCAS member in good standing.
- In order to obtain points for a fish, a member must bring a minimum of five young, at least sixty (60) days old and put them up for auction.
- The member must fill in the required information on the BAP Submission Form.
- Points will only be awarded once for each species spawned. Example: Points for guppies will only be awarded once.
- Known Hybrids are not eligible for BAP points.
- Parents of the fry must be owned by the member submitting. Eggs may not be obtained elsewhere then hatched.
- A photo of the free swimming fry within the members tank must be presented.
- Points will be awarded based upon classification. Classifications and points are based upon difficulty.
- Species not listed in the classification will be evaluated and assigned to a class by the BAP Coordinator and or the Board.
- The BAP Coordinator and or Board may alter the BAP program regulations or classifications in order to preserve the program’s quality and integrity.
- It is the responsibility of the Breeder to ensure their points have been properly recorded.
- In cases regarding uncertain identification, a published photograph shall be utilized to identify. In the event no published photograph exists, a photograph of the submission shall be taken and filed with the BAP Submission Form.
- The BAP Coordinator and or Board shall keep a record of participating members’ point totals, which shall be published annually.
- A member may petition the BAP Coordinator and or Board in order to submit a lower number of fry when it is documented that a specific species produces small broods.
- Comments, questions, clarifications, and suggestions may be directed to the Board.

- Novice- 50 points
- Intermediate- 100 points
- Advanced- 300 points
- Senior- 500 points
- Master- 1,000 points
- Grand Master- 1,500 points
